Welcome, Sinbad & Shalimar!
We have raised $700 in the Matching Funds campaign for this month 9 days in! You have 20 days left to double your donation!!! Thank you to the Wilkins family for donating the matching funds for this campaign. We appreciate everything each and every one of you put towards FEBS and allowing birds to just “be a bird”. Each dollar you donate is not only doubled but goes directly to the cost of raising more full flight aviaries in Hudson for another group of birds. They need YOUR help and now is when you can make your donation count the most!

The owner of the Animal Behavior Center Lara Joseph stopped by FEBS Saturday 11/14 during her trip to Tampa for the Pet Professional’s Guild conference. She was interested in seeing the sanctuary and the work being done. Lara Joseph owns and operates the Animal Behavior Center in Sylvania, OH and works with parrots, pigs, dogs, deaf dogs, vultures, rats and other animals yet has a special place in her heart for parrots. She uses positive reinforcement, enrichment and applied behavior analysis in force free training. She is passionate about the work she does and travels and lectures around the world on animal behavior. Lara gave Pat an hour interview on Periscope and helped share our mission on giving birds back to each other and the amazing work being done. She fell in love with all the birds at FEBS and plans for a return visit. Pat and Lara discussed developing an enrichment center at FEBS as well as providing internships for veterinarians. Lara is also offering FEBS at no cost, free training and webinars for any special needs birds in our care. Check out her website at TheAnimalBehaviorCenter.com

We want to shout out to all our wonderful volunteers that come to help us in this crazy Florida weather! Whether it was super humid, hot or pouring rain we seem to find such fantastic volunteers! Kayla is one of those volunteers so we want to give her a Sza Sza kiss and say thank you for coming all the way from Ohio to help make some toys for the birds.
We have had so many other wonderful families, students, couples and even a mother daughter teams from all over, including Illinois, California, Tennessee, Indiana and many more. We have even had volunteers that have come out and shared their birthdays with us to help the birds….NOW THATS LOVE!
So from everyone here at FEBS including all our wonderful feathered flock we want to tell them that WE LOVE THEM right back and thank you for all you do!
The birds love music and dancing, so this wonderful couple sang to the birds and in return the birds danced and sang right along with them. It was beautiful music to all our ears!
